Emory University, Atlanta, GA, Postdoctoral Research with Prof. Eilaf Egap
Developed new strategies to improve macroscopic molecular ordering of conjugated polymers.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, Postdoctoral Research with Prof. Elsa Reichmanis
Developed new organic/inorganic hybrid electrodes for energy storage devices.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, Doctoral Research with Prof. Elsa Reichmanis.
Experienced with device processing for organic transistors and organic photovoltaics. Developed new strategies to enhance molecular ordering of conjugated organic polymer chains in the solid state for improved optical and electrical properties for opto-electronic devices. Investigated the effect of solvent properties, i.e., solubility, boiling point, and polarity, on the morphology and optical and electrical properties of conjugated polymer thin films. Fabricated metal-conjugated polymer core-shell nanostructured materials using chemical oxidation polymerization and studied their chemical stability. Synthesized inorganic nanoparticles using sol-gel chemistry and hydrothermal/solvothermal methods.

Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Daejeon, South Korea, Research Scientist
Fabricated conducting polymer nanoparticles via microemulsion polymerization; enhanced dielectric properties of polyimide matrices through nanocomposite preparation.

LG Chemical Co. Ltd., Daejeon, South Korea, Research Scientist
Developed formulations of rubber toughened plastic with halogen-free flame retardancy and evaluated polymer resin flame retardancy. Developed high-gloss and scratch-resistance plastic formulations. Experienced with polymer compounding and processing via extrusion and injection. Evaluated thermal and mechanical properties of polymer resins. Acquired 6 Sigma Green Belt Certificate in 2006 within LG Chemical Co. Ltd.

Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, Master’s Research with Prof. Jyongsik Jang
Fabricated various conducting polymer nanomaterials such as polyaniline nanorods, polypyrrole spheres and nanotubes, and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) nanorods and nanotubes via microemulsion polymerization. Developed chemical sensors to detect acids, bases, and organic volatile solvent vapors using the conducting polymer nanomaterials.
